Kids are the funniest or what cost us our exaltation

Emma is in CTR4 this year. I taught that class last year so I know that kids can make some pretty funny comments. Today, one teacher told me that Emma said she was too shy to answer a question. And her other teacher said that Emma insisted on telling a story before she would answer a question. Either, I got the story wrong or these are two seperate events. If they are two different events, I have one mixed up child. She isn't sure if she's shy or not.

This reminded me of another funny church story. Last year, Will scolded Evan after he had written on several of our walls. A couple of days later Evan went up to the walls again and repeated his dad's "no, no". I thought,"Oh, good, he is learning." Shortly after that, as we were driving into the garage, Evan spotted some orange spray paint on the curb made by some road workers and said "no, no." Again I thought he was really learning and that he wouldn't write on walls again. Maybe a couple of weeks later, it was time for the primary program. I had really worked with Emma to learn all the primary songs and her part. At the primary program practive, she didn't open her mouth at all. So, I told her if she sang loud and said her part during the real thing, she could have a movie that she had been asking for. During the program, I sat close to the front to monitor Emma. Will had to step out with Daniel and I was so involved with Emma that I didn't really pay attention to Evan. He laid underneath the bench and was real quiet. I thought that was great because he wasn't being loud and disruptive. Well, when I decided to look down a second time to check on him, he peeked out from under the bench with a crayon in his hand and immediately starting saying, "no, no". Yup, my child was coloring on the bottom of a pew. I have discussed with my friends on how I make amends for that, maybe pay a little extra tithing.... In the end is this really a funny story or a sad story. I hope this is not what stops us from getting into heaven.
